The Old Milking Parlour
Secluded and entirely private, without being fully remote, the Old Milking Parlour is situated in a tiny hamlet on the south eastern edge of Dartmoor - a place of magical forests and streams, misty mornings and, on sunny days, panoramic vistas. A solitary retreat here gives you the opportunity to really sink into this mysterious, mythic, ancient landscape. The guest house is nested in an old orchard, and is extremely comfortable and spacious, and well equipped: ideal for a solitary retreat, or perhaps a holiday for 2 or 3. Comprises a double bed, a reading room with a desk and sofa plus basic meditation equipment, open plan kitchen sitting room (including wood burner), and a very good shower room. Set in 1.5 acres of old orchard land bounded by a stream, you can walk out of the gate, turn right, and along a track which follows the stream up to Dartmoor itself in 20 minutes or so.
