Reviews

Wild Geese is nestled into a lush, secluded corner on the border of Somerset and Devon. I experienced it as a quiet, ideal spot for a solitary. The accommodation is simple but well set up for a retreat. I stayed there for 10 days for a very productive and joyful retreat - my main memories are of sitting quietly on the steps watching dragonflies dance and play over the pond in front of the caravan, meeting 2 friendly pigs in the neighbouring field, 2 feisty geese patrolling the neighbour's border, exploring or exercising along the serene Grand Western Canal, watching wild birds doing their thing on the canal, taiji around the pond, long walks that included paying homage to a Yew tree older than StoneHenge, open, relaxed, concentrated meditations inside and outside, and pujas dedicated to the Greatly Precious Guru, Padmasambhava. A restorative and significant retreat that felt longer than it was. I'm grateful to have been looked after discretely and ably by Sukamala. I recommend Wild Geese as a solitary venue and I hope to return if I have the opportunity.
